Robert's PhD research is focused on Natural Language Processing, Sentiment Analysis, Credibility and Influence measurement and their application to Twitter datasets. His wider research interests include Data Mining, Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, Data Visualization and Python programming.

He is a member of the Machine Learning Research Group at City University London. Robert has a Bachelor's degree in English Language and Literature and Master's degrees in both International Finance and Computing Science, the latter from Imperial College London. He is also on the organizing committee for the City Informatics PhD Symposium 2014 and will act as Review Committee Co-Chair.
