U N C L E T U P E L O

Uncle Tupelo are so damned good, it makes me weak. Sometimes, when it is late, and dark, and I am alone, they come to me in the darkness and sing songs so damned pretty you just want to cry. So instead I laugh and smile, and carry on with my life the best I know how.

They are country-rock, country-punk, insurgent country whatever, their early work fused Gram Parsons and Husker Du. Now they are more Gram Parsons than Bob Mould, but don't let that bother you too much. They are the best at what they do.

It's worth mentioning that Uncle Tupelo broke up some time in 1994, but this quickly lead to the formation of Son Volt (headed by J Farrar) and Wilco (Jeff Tweedy's baby), all that without mentioning the 'super- group' Golden Smog (Jeff Tweedy, Jayhawks to name a few).

On with the show?
