Prince Harry
Prince Harry

Born in 1984, two years shy of the heir, Prince Henry Charles Albert David is rapidly rising into the public realm.

Third in line to the throne, Harry followed William through schooling and, aged five, sang solo at his school's carol service. Like his father, Harry soon became a big fan of the Spice Girls, attending a concert in South Africa in 1997.

In the same year, his mother, Diana, Princess of Wales, died. Harry was not yet 13. The bereavement affected the younger prince acutely but gradually he found consolation in sport. He has become a keen skier on family holidays to Switzerland and regularly attends England rugby matches.

In January this year, Harry rose into the public realm when the News of The World ignored the press blackout on the young princes and revealed Harry's drink and drug antics.

Realising that the revelation may not be the scandal the press were hoping for - marijuana and teenage drinking being commonplace in today's society - Charles accepted the accusations and took Harry to a drug clinic to show him the perils of future indulgence.

A website called leaveharryalone.com sprung up and now Harry once again appears to be enjoying Eton's privacy away from a respectfully-silent media.
